What can I expect at Gracepoint?
WHAT DO I WEAR?
We know it's not easy visiting a new church for the first time.
Sometimes you feel like a non-member visiting a country club.
Do I belong here?
Am I really welcome?
Will the people be unfriendly, or too friendly?
Will I be conspicuous?
Will they ask me for money?
Will my kids enjoy it?
How should I dress?
It is our goal to make your visit an enjoyable experience! We want your experience to be easy, stress-free, and relaxing.
We want GracePoint to be "user-friendly" for everyone; whatever their background or their current or past lifestyle, including those who have never been to church before. If we were visiting a new church for the first time, we'd like to know what to expect as well, so here's a brief overview:
Since God doesn't have a dress code, neither do we. We encourage you to come as you are. The people you see on any given Sunday at GracePoint will be dressed in everything from T-shirt, jeans & flip-flops to shirt & tie or a dress (and anything in between)!
If you arrive early, you're welcome to join us for fresh brewed coffee and donuts in our coffee center, or browse through our Bookstore. Our folks usually spend a few minutes before or after services to fellowship with one another.
Our church staff and volunteers wear name tags to help identify themselves to guests, so feel comfortable introducing yourself to our staff and they will help answer any questions you may have.
When you arrive at GracePoint for our 10:00am Worship Service, you'll be directed where to park and then make your way to our main entrance. Don't worry, our friendly parking lot staff can get you where you need to go!
At the front door, you'll be welcomed by our greeters. They will be able to answer any questions you may have and direct you to the Worship Center.
If you have children, they can point you to the Children's area. If your children are shy, they are welcome to attend the adult service with you, but most really enjoy our childrens' programs! They are available to infants through 6th grade.
If you have children, you'll pick them up
from their classrooms. We hope you'll stay around and meet some people and make new friends. Church is about God and worship, but it's also about community and friendship. We hope that you will experience warmth and friendliness at GracePoint.
If you don't have a church home, we hope you'll stop by this Sunday. And if you do, please come and say hello!
The service usually begins with some upbeat music.
We hope you will join in as we have a time of Worship with our Band and Choir. Our Worship service is blended, meaning that we include Hymns, Contempory Praise, Southern Gospel, Gospel and Scripture Songs.
After the Music portion, our Pastor delivers a message where he tries to make it something you can use and that makes sense to what you're going through in life. Pastor Jim's passion is to always rightly divide the scriptures and to make the message understandable to even new christians.
The entire service will last about one hour. We hope you'll come up and introduce yourself to us afterwards.
Our Welcome Center, located in the lobby, has a brochure about the church and a copy of our "Belief Statement". Feel free to stop by and say hello. Our bookstore is also open for 15 minutes after each service.
